Tiffany Edlin

Vice President

Tiffany grew up in the PNW and always used nature adventures as a healing space. She loves hiking, mountain biking, and anything that involves water. Any ac-tiff-ities her dogs can join her on are the best. Bellingham has been her home for over 15 years and she has participated as a volunteer or spectator almost every year. Tiffany has been the co-chair of cyclocross leg of Ski to Sea since 2017 and joined the Board in 2023. Her passions include reducing barriers and increasing access for everyone to be able to participate in the incredible events Whatcom Events has to offer.

Jessa Loudon

Secretary

Raised in Whatcom County, participating in Ski to Sea has been a cherished tradition for Jessa since she was young. She joined the Board in 2023 after years of racing the downhill running leg and working as the Ski to Sea Volunteer Coordinator in 2022. As an avid ultra runner, mountain biker and snowboarder, she holds deep roots in the outdoor rec scene that makes Bellingham such a special place. Throughout her life, Jessa has always aspired to pursue meaningful career choices where she felt she was making a difference, graduating from Western Washington University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Community Health. Since then she has developed a diverse work experience as a health education specialist, case manager, grant writer, HR coordinator, project manager, business owner, and currently as a Realtor at John L Scott. Being on the Board is an especially rewarding experience for Jessa because it allows her to work with others to improve the community she grew up in and share her passion for outdoor recreation.

Edoh Amiran

Treasurer

Edoh joined the Board in 2023. He first participated in Ski to Sea in 1990, doing the cross country ski leg on a team organized by coworkers. Edoh credits the race for getting him interested in canoeing and has done the canoe leg every year that the race has been run since 1994, 28 consecutive times with the same partner — perhaps a record. Consequently, he has paddled in several other canoe races and on river trips in the US and Canada. Edoh teaches mathematics at Western Washington University, and lives in Whatcom County where he helps his wife maintain a short section of a stream and its banks. His other not-quite-standard hobby is partner dancing..

Tracy Gorham

Tracy became a Board member in 2017 and has been co-chairing the kayak leg since 2015.  She has been an active volunteer since 2013 with Ski to Sea, organizing the safety boats from United States Power Squadrons of Bellingham. Tracy works as a Nurse and office manager at Bellingham Medical Clinic, then after hours she runs her own business, Accent Embroidery and Sewing, custom embroidery and sewing.  Tracy puts in time with Dog training classes and trains her own German shepherd Dog for AKC shows. Being on the Board of Whatcom Events is an opportunity to support the community with amazing outdoor recreational adventures in the Pacific Northwest.

Maureen “Mo” Stewart

Born and raised in California, Mo moved to Bellingham in 1994. She fell in love with the true color of green and the sense of community that was everywhere, especially around Ski to Sea. In 2012 Mo and her husband, Russ, were co-chairs of the canoe to cyclocross leg with the honorable John Burley. In 2013, Mo and Russ became chairs for the finish line. Mo was instrumental in bringing on her employer, Fred Meyer, as a sponsor. In her spare time Mo likes to travel, go for walks, ride pedal-assist bikes, work in the garden, spend time with the grandkids, volunteer, and learn new things. As a Board member joining Whatcom Events in 2023, Mo hopes to bring a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to continue the success of all the events that showcase the outdoor activities available in our beautiful Whatcom County.

John Buckley

John joined the Board in 2023. He grew up in Bellingham wandering around the woods that are now established neighborhoods. As a teenager he played FC Rangers soccer and was constantly searching for deep snow on his board at Mt. Baker, spending the summers sailing around the San Juan and Gulf Islands. His love for soccer eventually led him to Pacific Lutheran University where he received a BA in Economics and an MS in Finance. Post university, John found himself running and hiking frequently which resulted in a decade’s worth of Ragnar Relays and summiting Mt. Rainier, Mt. Olympus, and Mt. Whitney. John currently works for the Department of Fish and Wildlife as the Deputy Chief information Officer where his focus is on IT projects, budget, legislation, team culture and leadership development. His interest in Ski to Sea started by doing several of the legs in the youth race, he is currently on his 8th year doing the canoe leg.

Magnus Nyström

Magnus joined the Board in 2023. He has participated in Ski to Sea twice, once organizing a team. His dream is to do the cross country ski leg, but circumstances have made him do the downhill leg both times. Magnus works as a Director of information security at Amazon in Seattle. Outside of work, he likes to spend as much time as possible in the winter doing cross or back country skiing in the Cascades, and he plays ice hockey all year round. Magnus sees his board membership in Whatcom Events as an opportunity to help support and evolve a good cause and fantastic experiences across all ages.

Kayla Campbell

Kayla, a graduate of Strategic Communications from WSU, has been a dedicated member of the Ski to Sea Race Committee since 2022, serving as the cross country ski chair. She joined the Whatcom Events Board in 2023 and resides in Sudden Valley with her husband. Kayla’s love for the outdoors began in her youth, skiing the slopes of Stevens Pass, and now, she enjoys hiking around Mount Rainier and Crystal Mountain during the warmer months. As a freelance marketer, Kayla thrives on expanding brand reach and creating meaningful connections with people. Her commitment to community extends to volunteering at the Seattle/King County free clinic each year, offering care and support to those in need. For Kayla, being part of the Whatcom Events Board is an opportunity to combine her passion for connecting with the local community and exploring the great outdoors of Whatcom County.
